When Bill received his son's Down syndrome diagnosis, he had no idea what the future would like. Like so many parents in this community, Bill shared with us that he had to "reset his expectations of what a father-son relationship was going to be" as soon as he met Alex.

The first time Alex competed in the 400 meter swim at Area games was so inspiring to watch. Because of the length it was the last competition of the meet. Most of the other parents and athletes were leaving but all the volunteers gathered round to watch.
